Chocolate and tahini balls – makes approx. 14

I have to admit I love these nutty chocolate balls so much, I sometimes hide a few from my kids so I can have them with my coffee after dropping them off at school (YES, THEY ARE BACK IN SCHOOL!!!). The hazelnut and cocoa combination reminds me of Nutella, while they are of course so much healthier!

What you need:

6 dates – roughly chopped

100g ground hazelnuts

1 tbsp tahini

1.5 tbsp date syrup

2 tsp cocoa powder – unsweetened

Half a teaspoon of cinnamon

Pinch of salt

How you do it:

In a food processor blend the chopped dates until you get a sticky, coarse paste.

Pour in your ground hazelnuts and blend for a further minute before adding all the other ingredients.

Blend everything until well combined and smooth.

Using the palms of your hands roll the ‘dough’ into little balls, adding a little more date syrup if it feels too crumbly (but careful, it shouldn’t get too wet either).

Enjoy straight away or keep in the fridge for up to about 3 days.
